Job Purpose:

Complete refurbishments and updates to existing Sanjel equipment
Gain working knowledge of Sanjel's equipment
Check equipment for proper performance
Inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions and diagnose to determine extent of repair required
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment

Qualifications:

Class 5 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract (Class 1 Preferred)
Alberta Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate with Inter-provincial Red Seal or equivalent
Thorough safety knowledge and practice
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and pumps
Electrical wiring capabilities
CVIP License
Mechanical training in the oilfield industry is considered an asset
Driven, engaging individual who is a team player and can offer strong problem solving skills
Candidates with Military/Canadian Armed Forces experience are encouraged to apply

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel Toed Safety Boots
Transportation: Public transportation is not available
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, physically demanding, manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
Work Location Information: Urban areas, rural areas, various locations (starting and ending the day at the shop. A company truck will transport to sites.)
Personal Suitability: Team player, reliability, effective interpersonal skills, flexibility, client focus, organized, dependability
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Small engine equipment, pick up truck, weed trimmer/edger, sod cutter, tractor mower (all are assets but not required)
Specific Skills: Assist with landscape constructions, weed, prune and trim trees and plants, cut grass, rake and collect refuse, remove litter and garbage, cart and spread topsoil and other materials, lay sod or seed, plant bulbs & flowers & shrubs and trees, apply fertilizer, repair and maintain equipment, write daily basic progress reports, water and tend to plants/lawn/gardens, operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
Work Setting: Landscape contractor, landscape maintenance, private residence, park and recreation sites.
